Abstract: Based on 1665 questionnaires for residents' recreation around the city of Wuhan, the structural equation model (SEM) was adopted to study the relationship between experience value, tourist satisfaction and behavioral intention, and to verify the "tourism experience value-satisfaction-behavioral intention" model (TEVSB) to reveal the mechanism of urban and rural recreation around metropolis. There are three links nested with each other: the first is the layered effect of the experience value; the second is the mediating effect of situational value and emotional value; the third is the direct effect of cognitive value on behavioral intentions. Functional value, economic value, situational value and emotional value have indirect effects on behavioral intentions through tourist satisfaction. Based on the conclusions, some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of rural-urban recreational areas.
