Comparison of silage yield and quality among twenty maize varieties(lines) in southwest China

Abstract

Abstract: To compare the agronomic traits and productivity of twenty silage maize varieties(lines),so as to screen out the best silage varieties suitable for spreading cultivation in southwest China.The characteristics,silage yield and quality of different cultivars were analyzed under planting density of 4 266plants/667m².The results showed that there was a difference between the agronomic traits and the yield traits among different varieties.The highest yield of silage was 5 463.66kg/667m²,and the lowest yield was 3680.83kg/667m².Nutritional quality analysis of the six highest silage varieties(lines) (Yunnan Local Species/Pacific 98,chuanqing 8,76/77,1123A/different-7,H1619052/Pacific 98,9yco33/Yunnan Local Species) found,except for In Vitro Dry Matter Digestibility,the contents of crude protein,neutral detergent fiber,acid detergent fiber and soluble sugar were significantly different.Yunnan local species/Pacific 98 and Chuanqing 8 silage have high yield,good quality and excellent comprehensive traits,so they were suitable for popularization and planting in southwest China.
