Abstract: Red rice is an extremely precious characteristic rice resource. Blast is one of the most serious rice diseases worldwide, which usually leads to a sharp decline in rice yield and even results in no yield. Breeding blast-resistant varieties is one of the most effective and economical ways to control the disease. In this study,BL122 containing two blast resistance genes Pi1 and Pi2 was used as gene donor to be crossed and then backcrossed with red rice variety Guihong 1. The improved materials of high resistance to rice blast with two resistance genes were obtained. The resistance identification of rice blast in seedling stage and mature stage of BC3F3 was carried out. The results showed that the resistance of target strains with two resistance genes was all above the resistance level, and some strains reached high resistance level. The resistance of these strains to rice blast was significantly higher than that of the recurrent parent. Statistical analysis showed that, compared with the control, the effective panicle and theoretical yield of BC3F3 were significantly increased, while there was no significant difference in other agronomic traits. The improved materials obtained through molecular marker-assisted selection is a new breeding resource for the breeding of red rice.
