Breeding and application of japonica hybrid rice Changjingyou 582 with long grain and fragrance

Abstract: Changjingyou 582, a new hybrid japonica rice（Oryza sativa L. subsp. japonica） variety with tragrance, high quality and long grain, is bred from Changjing 1A as the female parent and restorer line Xianghui 582 as the male parent. The variety has the characteristics of good quality, good taste, high yield, strong lodging resistance and disease resistance, and excellent comprehensive characteristics. It was approved by Hubei Crop Variety Approval Committee in September 2020. The breeding process and characteristics of the variety were summarized. The technical points of yield, cultivation and seed production were introduced.
