Abstract: The level of intensive use of cultivated land, the level of urbanization and the coordination between them in the 2000-2015 of Xiangxi prefecture was analyzed. The results show that, the degree of coordination in Xiangxi prefecture has increased from 0.221 in 2000 to 0.562 in 2015. At present, it is in the stage of running-in development; The degree of coordination in each region has been growing, but the growth rate is different. Many regions are in the lag type of intensive use of cultivated land. Therefore, balancing the input of cultivated land between regions and increasing the utilization degree of cultivated land while focusing on urban development is an effective way for the coordinated development of intensive use of cultivated land and urbanization in Xiangxi prefecture.
