Breeding of a new early rice cultivar Gangzaoxian 11 with rice blast resistance

Abstract: Gangzaoxian 11 is a new type of conventional early rice variety bred by the Huanggang Academy of Agricultural Sciences by crossing and backcrossing E-zao 18 with high quality blast resistant parent GD-1, and combining molecular marker assisted selection technology with traditional breeding methods. The variety has the characteristics of resistance to rice blast, suitable for direct seeding, good leaf type and superior quality. It was approved by the Hubei Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in 2019.
