Exploring the Breeding Method of High Quality Rice TGMS Lines

Abstract

Abstract: The two-line male sterile lines play an important role in rice variety breeding with characteristics of easy reproducing and being more freedom to test hybrid combinations, at the same time, there exists some certain production risks. The characteristics of light and temperature sensitive male sterility make the two-line sterile lines different from the conventional varieties in the process of breeding. From one breeder's perspective, focusing on the rice quality, combining ability, breed, and seed production of sterile lines, the process and points for attention in breeding high quality rice TGMS lines were described briefly.
