Study on the coupling and coordinating development of urbanization and ecological environment in Wuhan city

Abstract: By constructing the urbanization and ecological environment evaluation index system of Wuhan city, based on the data from 2008 to 2017, the entropy method, coefficient of variation method, coupling coordination degree and other quantitative analysis methods are used to explore the comprehensive development level and coupling coordination of urbanization and ecological environment in Wuhan city. The results show that from 2008 to 2017, the level of comprehensive development of urbanization and ecological environment in Wuhan city have showed a rising trend of fluctuation, the level of comprehensive development has been greatly improved, and the degree of coupling coordination has also developed from low and medium coordination to high coordination. However, the comprehensive development level of the ecological environment has lagged behind the comprehensive development level of urbanization since 2010. So it is necessary for Wuhan city to further increase its efforts to protect the ecological environment.
