Abstract: Volatile Oils of Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc. from Ludian, Yongshan, Qiaojia and Yiliang counties of Zhaotong city are extracted by steam distillation. Using GC/MS, chemical constituents were determined and their relative quantities were calculated with area normalizatin method. The results showed that there is no significant difference in the main components of volatile oil in the four counties. The main components are linalool, sabinene, D-limonene, terpinene and terpineol, they are more than 80% in the essential oils. Compared with the volatile oils obtained from Sichuan hanyuan, jinyang, renshou, hongya and Chongqing jiangjin green pepper, the content of linalool is higher in Zhaotong Zanthoxylum schinifolium Sieb. et Zucc.
