Analysis on water environment protection of historic and cultural towns and villages in north China: A case of ancient Guangfu town, Hebei province

Abstract: Complete protection of water environment of historical and cultural villages and towns is an important issue for the protection and utilization of cultural heritage.By collecting water sample from peripheral ponds and moats,pools and residents' drinking water in typical ancient Guangfu town in north China,and taking advantage of grey relational appraise method,it found that the water environment of ancient Guangfu town was in line with the characteristics of that in Chinese traditional ancient towns and villages.Sanitary sewage,livestock wastewater and runoff and drainage of farmland as well as travelling of tourists were main contaminative sources.Water supply and drainage infrastructure was imperfect and point source pollution was the main form of pollution.In addition,tourists were also one of the factors affecting the water environment of the ancient town.According to the results of analysis,the thesis thus initially proposes measures were put forword to solve water environmental problems.The above research provides relevant basis for the proper protection of water environment of historical and cultural villages,thus to pave the way for improvement of the quality of the connotation of ancient Guangfu town and construction of beautiful country.
