Abstract: Taking the Yellow river basin as the research object, a comprehensive evaluation index system of rural revitalization and new urbanization was constructed, and the temporal and spatial characteristics of the coupling and coordination relationship between rural revitalization and new urbanization in the Yellow river basin from 2011 to 2019 by using entropy method and coupling coordination model were analyzed. The results showed that the development level of rural revitalization and new urbanization in the Yellow river basin showed a fluctuating upward trend from 2011 to 2019, and the development level of rural revitalization always lagged behind the development level of new urbanization; The change trend of the coupling degree between rural revitalization and new urbanization in the Yellow river basin was relatively stable, showing a highly coupled state, indicating that there was a strong interactive relationship between rural revitalization and new urbanization; In terms of time scale, from 2011 to 2019, the coupling and coordination degree of rural revitalization and new urbanization in the Yellow River Basin experienced the development process from “primary coordination” to “intermediate coordination”. The coupling and coordinated development level of the two systems were high and showed a good development trend; From the spatial scale, the spatial distribution of rural revitalization and new urbanization in the Yellow river basin had certain aggregation characteristics, showing the spatial differentiation pattern of lower reaches of the Yellow river basin > middle reaches of the Yellow river basin > upper reaches of the Yellow river basin.
