Abstract: Aimed to research the effect of interaction between soil moisture and fertilizer on yield and quality of flue cured tobacco in the growth of field, the experiments of water and fertilizer coupling were conducted in Baokang county in 2016. The results showed that increasing soil moisture content or fertilizer rate could promote the growth and development, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco. The interaction between soil moisture and fertilizer was significant in the treatment with high rate of soil moisture content and fertilizer, which could lead to higher yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco. Considering different effects of soil moisture and fertilizer on yield, production value, intrinsic chemical composition and smoking quality of the flue-cured tobacco, nitrogen application rate was advised as 5~6 kg/667 m2. Furthermore, water irrigation measures could significantly improve the production value and quality of flue-cured tobacco; under the condition of no irrigation, the nitrogen application rate should be reduced to 5 kg/667 m2.
