Abstract: Sponge epiphytic fungi FWZ0415 was cultured in solid state fermentation, and its secondary metabolites were isolated, purified and identified. Using silica gel column chromatography,Sephadex column(Sephadex LH-20) and the preparation of semi preparative high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) methodtwo compounds were purified, and then identified as violaceol-I and violaceol-II by nuclear magnetic resonance 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. The cytotoxicity of two compounds to K252,MCF-7 and SGC7901 were tested,violaceol-I was not significantly cytotoxicity(IC50>30 μmol). The IC50 of violaceol-II to three tumor cell lines were 16.7,16.3,15.8 μmol, respectively.
