Research on coupling and coordinated development of urban industry-population-spatial carrying capacity in Shaanxi Province

Abstract: Based on the data from 2008 to 2018 in Shaanxi Province, the index system of industry, population and spatial carrying capacity was constructed, and the comprehensive development level and coupling coordination degree of each city in Shaanxi Province were analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that from 2008 to 2018, the level of urban industry development in Shaanxi Province decreased in fluctuation, the level of population development changed little, and the level of spatial carrying capacity developed steadily. However, the coupling coordination degree of urban industry-population-space carrying capacity in Shaanxi Province during 2008—2018 was divided into two types of forced coupling and intermediate coupling. On the whole, the coupling coordination level was developing to good coordination, but the degree of advanced coupling coordination was not reached. In space, the development structure with Xi'an city as the center and each city close to it was basically maintained, and the development level gap between cities was narrowed and developed to a good level. Because of the irrationality of the development of the industry system, the development level of the industry system was lower than that of the population and the spatial carrying capacity system, and the synergy of the development of the industry, population and spatial carrying capacity system was not strong, thus affecting the overall development of each city and Shaanxi Province.
