Application of three cluster methods on regionalization of temperature and precipitation in Hunan province

Abstract: Based on the monthly temperature and precipitation data from 90 stations in Hunan province from 1961 to 2015, the eigenvectors of annual mean temperature and annual total precipitation were extracted by REOF method. Based on this, K-means clustering method, sample system clustering method and fuzzy C-means clustering method were used to partition, and the most reasonable partitioning results were selected. The results show that the annual average temperature in Hunan province is divided into four zones: northeastern Hunan, northwestern Hunan and western Hunan, central Hunan and southern Hunan, and southeastern Hunan; The precipitation in Hunan is divided into six zones: northwestern Hunan, northeastern Hunan, western Hunan, southwestern Hunan, central Hunan, and southern Hunan.
