Abstract: AbstractThe morphological characteristics, living habits, occurrence and damage of Milionia basalis Walker were observed and studied in detail. The causes of the outbreak in eastern Guangdong were analyzed. The results showed that Milionia basalis Walker was a typical oligotrophic insect that mainly feeds on the leaves of Podocarpus macrophyllus and Podocarpus nagi. The suitable climate environment in the east of Guangdong province, the large area planting and the neglect of management were the main reasons for the outbreak of the pest. Finally, according to the causes of the outbreak of the pest, the comprehensive control measures were proposed.
