From ‘Quantity’ to ‘Quality’ in the new period:Investigation and reflection on the development of characteristic agriculture in Fujian province

Abstract: Characteristic agriculture is the engine of rural economic growth. At the intersection of comprehensively winning the well-off society and basically realizing the socialist modernization construction, adjusting the development strategy of characteristic agriculture, innovating development, improving quality and efficiency are the inherent requirements of its development in the new stage of basically realizing agricultural modernization from 2020 to 2035, and also the inevitable choice for the upgrading of agricultural industrial structure and the realization of quality catch-up in Fujian province. On the basis of investigation and research, this paper summarizes the achievements and existing problems of the development of characteristic agriculture in Fujian province, combining with the requirements of the current, the strategic orientation are put forward in the new period. Then the countermeasures and suggestions are put forword from seven aspects, such as optimizing industrial distribution, strengthening new-type business operators, promoting industrial integration, attaching importance to agricultural science and technology, improving service system, strengthening brand building and implementing the open strategy. It is expected to have some reference value for the modernization of characteristic agriculture in Fujian province.
