Abstract: The soil nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients were analyzed and compared in abandoned land and maize soil planted for 1, 5, 10 and 50 years in agro-pastoral ecotone in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in order to investigate the effects of maize planting years on soil nitrogen and phosphorus. The results showed that the soil nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients increased obviously with the increase of maize planting years. Soil organic matter and nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients showed a significant or extremely significant positive correlation correlated with planting years. Soil nitrogen and phosphorus contents reached the highest level under 50 planting years. Therefore, in the process of maize planting management in this area, it was necessary to combine the change rule of each nutrient factor with years and the correlation among different nutrient factors, so as to achieve the purpose of increasing maize yield and environmental protection through soil fertilization and rational fertilizer cultivation.
