Abstract: To identify the pathogen of Polygonatum odoratum root rot and clarify its biological characteristics in Liaoning province, which the pathogenic strains were isolated, purified and cultured. Based on pathogenicity tests, combining with morphological observation and extension factor (EF1-α) sequence analysis, the kinds of pathogenic strains were clarified and the biological characteristics of pathogen were systematically studied. The results indicated that the pathogen was identified as Fusarium oxysporum, which the optimum medium for pathogen growth was potato dextrose agar (PDA), the carbon source and nitrogen source was mannitol and potassium nitrate, respectively. The temperature was 25~30 ℃, pH was 5~7, and the light condition was completely dark.
