Comprehensive Evaluation of Ecological Carrying Capacity in Wuhan City

Abstract: Taking Wuhan city as the research object, based on the P-S-R (Pressure-State-Response) model, the quantitative indicators of the ecological capacity in Wuhan city was determined,and then the urban ecological carrying capacity evaluation model was build, including urban ecological support model,urban ecological pressure model,urban ecological capacity model. Then the evaluation index system and model were used to evaluate the carrying capacity of ecosystem in Wuhan form 2005 to 2014. The results showed that,from 2005 to 2014,the comprehensive level of ecological carrying capacity of Wuhan was stable in a good state,then dropped to a very low level,and finally had a tendency to rise slowly. From 2005 to 2010,the comprehensive level of ecological carrying capacity of Wuhan was stable in a good condition. From 2011 to 2014,the ecological carrying capacity showed overload,then Wuhan actively changed the mode of economic development and adjusted the industrial structure,the ecological system was fixed,and the ecological carrying capacity had a tendency to rise.
