Abstract: Based on the sustainable livelihood framework, statistical analysis of the livelihood capital scores of 236 rural households in two state-level poverty-stricken counties, Zigui county, Hubei and Pingshan county, Hebei, a was taken, and the logistic model was used to explore the relationship between livelihood capital owned by farmers and rural tourism participation. The results show that social capital has the most significant impact on farmer participation in tourism projects, followed by financial capital, physical capital, and natural capital, and human capital is the least significant. The natural capital of Jiuwan Stream Scenic Area is significantly higher than that of Foguang Mountain Scenic Area, the difference between other capitals is not obvious, and it has similar effects on farmers' participation in rural tourism projects. Due to the lack of livelihood capital, the participation of rural poverty-stricken households is significantly lower than that of ordinary farmers. Efforts to increase the existing social and financial capital stocks of farmers are of great significance to motivate farmers, especially poor households, to participate in rural tourism projects, and at the same time help improve the livelihood results of poor households, thereby achieving precision poverty alleviation.
