Abstract: Entropy weight TOPSIS and Gini coefficient method were used to quantitatively analyze the carrying capacity of agricultural water and soil resources and agricultural economic development in Hunan province from 2005 to 2018, and the obstacle degree method was used to identify the main influencing factors. The result showed that the capacity of agricultural water and soil resources was mainly affected by reclamation rate, rural per capita domestic water consumption, natural population growth rate and other factors, while GDP growth rate and agricultural mechanization degree were the main obstacle factors affecting agricultural economic development; The carrying capacity of agricultural water and soil resources in Hunan province showed a trend of fluctuating decline, sharp rise and then slow decrease from 2005 to 2018, while the agricultural economic development showed a trend of fluctuation rise, then decrease and finally increase; During the study period, Gini coefficient changed from 0.22 to 0.32, and the matching degree between the carrying capacity of agricultural water and soil resources and agricultural economic development was better; During the study period, the lag phenomenon of agricultural economic development in northwest and southwest areas of Hunan province had been significantly improved, the balanced development area had been transferred from the east to the middle, and the carrying capacity of agricultural water and soil resources in the northeast region had obviously lagged behind.

Key words: carrying capacity of agricultural water and soil resources, agricultural economic development, spatiotemporal differentiation, matching, Hunan province
