Economic impact of rural land exit of migrant workers

Abstract: With the advancement of urbanization, the scale of migrant workers has expanded year by year, and the problem of rural hollowing caused by the non-agriculturalization of rural population has become more and more serious. The reduction of hollow villages and optimal all ocation of inefficient operation and even idle waste of rural land resources are inevitable requirements of agricultural and rural modernization. By measuring the impact of rural land withdrawal of migrant workers, it is found that the land withdrawal of migrant workers will revitalize at least 23.33 million hm2 of abandoned farmland and 2.13 million hm2 of idle homestead. The necessity, importance and urgency of land withdrawal should be paid attention to. The withdrawal of rural land of migrant workers will have an important impact on the optimal allocation of cultivated land resources, agricultural production efficiency, international competitiveness of agricultural products prices, the promotion of agricultural supply-side structural reform and the realization of rural revitalization in China.
