Breeding and application of fragrant rice restorer line Ehui 71 with blast resistance

Abstract

Abstract: Ehui 71 is a blast-resistant and fragrant rice restorer line developed by molecular marker-assisted selection （MAS） technology by Food Crop Research Institute of Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The Ehui 71-derived hybrid combinations showed advantages with heterosis, yield and resistance by crossing with male sterile lines, such as Enong 1S, Enong 2S, Yu 03S and Luohong 4A. Among them, Eliangyou 2071 and Yangsun No. 1 were approved by Hubei Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in 2021, while Yuliangyou 71 was approved by Hubei Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in 2022. The breeding process, variety characteristics and application of Ehui 71 were summarized.
