Abstract: Using the plate confrontation assay,2 strains(bjq-a, bjq-d) with antagonistic effects on leaf spot disease of Thunbergia grandiflora were screened from 6 bacteria isolated from health leaves of T. grandiflora conventional tissue separation, strain bjq-a was the biggest antagonism width. Antibacterial spectrum tests showed it had significantly antagonistic activities to 9 plant pathogens. Based on morphological and 16S rDNA sequence analysis, strains bjq-a and bjq-d were identified as Bacillus methylotrophicus and B. amyloliquefaciens, respectively. When observed under the microscope, the mycelia of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides showed swollen, deformity and breakage.
