Abstract: In order to break through the bottleneck of agricultural development in recent years in Weifang City, Shandong Province, and provide reference for the agricultural development of other similar cities, based on the panel data of 11 counties and cities in Weifang City from 2012 to 2020, this paper made an empirical analysis by using the method of global principal component analysis （GPCA）, and explored the spatial-temporal evolution by using ArcGIS spatial analysis technology. The results showed that the overall agricultural competitiveness of Weifang City showed a steady upward trend. The layout was divided into Weibei district, Weinan district and Weizhong district according to the score from high to low. The competitiveness gradually presented a north-south echo pattern of high on both sides and low in the middle. Agricultural benefits and resource support, agricultural investment and structure, agricultural sustainable development, the main body of agricultural management and agricultural risk management jointly promoted the evolution of the temporal and spatial pattern of counties and cities. Efforts should be made from strengthening resource support, improving chemical investment, strengthening risk management and moving forward in a regional group, in order to give suggestions for improving the agricultural competitiveness of Weifang City.
